As of this point ARIADNE has been presented as a methodology composed out of two methodological frameworks (one for the development and one for the acquisition of technology) with twenty (20) process models in each framework.
That is one methodology Χ(times) 2 dimensions (frameworks) Χ 20 process models Χ 5 versions è200 process models. Actually the process models are 400, since there are 200 for the software oriented project and as many for the non-software oriented ones. The presentation focuses on the processes related to the Software Intensive Projects since they are the most difficult to manage and ARIADNE can be extremely useful towards managing software complexity from either the development of the acquisition point of view.
The structure of each process model is so mature and complete that it can be considered as a methodology by itself supporting a specific process. A Testing Methodology for example or a Contract Management Methodology.
The SYSTEM TESTING PHASE for example in its Advanced Version is composed from a quite large number of process elements as shown in table 1.
